It’s just as likely that you’ll suddenly come up on an unsuspecting foe as the other way around. Whatever disadvantages such a map provides, provides them to everyone. There’s too many potential spots where enemies can suddenly be right behind you. The map itself is honestly a bit stressful. Death results in bodies floating off in the low gravity, which is a nice effect.

The map takes place on a floating space station, and is comprised of two levels of cramped, twisting corridors. The maps on offer in the beta were OK, but certainly not the pinnacle of the franchise.īy far the most common map I ended up playing was Frontier. Another part of me feels like this further tips the balance away from a level playing field, skill notwithstanding. It gives you one more thing to do between matches. There’s also a new crafting system which allows you to use in-game currency to upgrade your arsenal bit by bit, slowly improving your favorite guns as you play. It continues the trend in Call of Duty toward more complexity, more speed and more bursts of deadliness, whether that’s in Payloads or Scorestreaks. Whether you love it or hate it boils down to taste. They can equip special powers which charge up during a match and can be unleashed to deadly effect. Looks aside, Combat Rigs themselves operate much like Specialists. Whether one or the other is better boils down to taste, but the variety is nice.

Gone are the varied and colorful Specialists Combat Rigs may be a bit dreary and washed out by comparison, but it makes the game feel grittier and less cartoonish. Here, your team must grab a drone and defend it.I do like the less flashy aesthetic here. The beta will rotate modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination and Kill Confirmed, as well as feature the new Defender mode. The beta includes three: Frontier (circular, two-lane, fast-paced), Frost (linear, three-lane, medium-paced) and Throwback (bent, three-lane, medium-paced). Mission Teams are supposed to add a metagame to the multiplayer. By completing missions while in a team, you earn a team rank. The beta also includes two of the four Mission Teams. They are Warfighter (mid-range assault), Merc (heavy defense and suppressive fire), and Synaptic (a droid optimised for speed and close quarters combat). The beta includes three of the six different Combat Rigs that will be in the game when it launches on 4th November. You can swap mid-match to help take a different approach. These are suits chosen by players that provide tactical options. The beta gives players a chance to use the new Combat Rigs system. The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare beta features three maps and four modes, Infinity Ward has confirmed over at the Activision blog.
